Focus Plumbing & Heating ("we", "us") is a Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating business covering Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester and Salisbury. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR in respect of the information described below.
Our website's contact form asks for your name, phone number, postcode, the service you need, and any additional details you choose to add. When you submit the form, your browser assembles that information into a message and hands it to an app on your own device — your text-message app by default, or WhatsApp or your email app if you choose those instead — with the message ready to send. Nothing is transmitted to us, and nothing is stored on any server we control, unless and until you personally tap send in that app.
Once sent, the message reaches us as an ordinary text message, WhatsApp message or email, depending on which you used. Text messages are carried by your own mobile network; WhatsApp messages are additionally subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy; emails are handled by our email provider. All are also covered by this policy.
If you contact us by phone or email instead, we handle that information in the same way described in this policy.
Our legal basis for this is your consent (given when you tick the box on the contact form) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.
A few parts of the site load resources from other companies. None of them are set up to track you for advertising, but each does involve your browser making a request to that company's own servers:
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any advertising or cross-site tracking technology on this website.
This website does not set any cookies of its own. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
Because enquiry details are sent straight to our phone or inbox rather than stored on a server we control, retention is governed by however long we keep those messages — typically for as long as needed to complete any work you've booked, plus a reasonable period afterwards for warranty and accounting purposes, and no longer than 6 years unless we're required to keep it longer by law.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us what information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to how we use it, or to ask us to restrict its use. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Reviews shown on this site are drawn from our public Google Business Profile. If you've left us a review and would prefer it not to appear here, let us know and we'll remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised.
